Therein lies the best career advice I could possibly dispense: just DO things. Chase after the things that interest you and make you happy. Stop acting like you have a set path, because you don’t. No one does. You shouldn’t be trying to check off the boxes of life; they aren’t real and they were created by other people, not you.

Glenn Danzig: I can remember taking Misfits stuff around to record labels in Manhattan and just people looking at me like I was from another planet and saying, “This is terrible…It’s a wall of noise…” At one place I think they were hyping the new David Soul record, which is I guess one of the guys from Starsky & Hutch, one of the worst TV shows ever. It was a really classic moment. I’m looking at this picture of David Soul plastered everywhere at this label and this guy is telling me that my music is the worst stuff he’s ever heard in his life and there, staring at me, is the worst music in his life. It’s funny. So here I am, and he’s probably either dead or selling hot dogs at Nathan’s in Coney Island or whatever.
